Export Sales Team Leader

    Job description

    Department: Sales – Export

    Reports to: Export Sales Manager / Board of Directors

    1. Job Objective

    • Lead and manage the export sales team to achieve assigned revenue, profit, and market development targets.

    • Develop export markets for wood and furniture products in the USA, EU, Japan, Korea, Middle East, and other key regions.

    • Ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with international standards in the wood industry.

    2. Key Responsibilities

    a. Team Management & Sales Planning

    • Assign tasks, supervise, and evaluate the performance of export sales staff.

    • Set and monitor sales KPIs including revenue, customer acquisition, and contract numbers.

    • Coach and train team members in negotiation, customer care, and export order management.

    b. Market & Customer Development

    • Conduct market research and propose development plans by region.

    • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new clients, agents, and distributors.

    • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to introduce new products that fit international market trends.

    c. Contract & Export Process Management

    • Oversee the full sales process: quotation, negotiation, contract signing, and execution.

    • Monitor production, documentation, shipment, and payment (L/C, T/T).

    • Coordinate with QA/QC and Logistics teams to ensure product quality, certifications (FSC, CARB, EPA, CE), and on-time delivery.

    d. Reporting & Improvement

    • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports on sales, cost, profit, and customer feedback.

    • Propose solutions to optimize costs, improve sales efficiency, and enhance team performance.

    Job requirements

    3. Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Export-Import, or Marketing.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in wood/furniture export; at least 1–2 years in a team leader or key account position.

    • Fluent in English (knowledge of Japanese/Korean/Chinese is an advantage).

    • In-depth understanding of Incoterms, international trade practices, and wood industry certifications (FSC, CARB, EPA, EUTR, CE).

    • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.

    • Experience with B2B platforms (Alibaba, Amazon Business, etc.) preferred.
